Suggestion Saturday: Find a Bright Color To Serve As Your Background
The perfect background is rarely available. What makes a great picture is using what you've got. A few large, bright bushes can provide needed color and take away unwanted background distractions so you can focus on your subjects.

A Beautiful Beach Wedding
Outdoor weddings can provide beautiful backgrounds and settings. A wedding at the beach can be asbsolutely spectacular. Rachel and Patrick chose the beach at Laguna for their wedding because of its beauty and relaxed atmosphere. They weren't disappointed. The weather was perfect and we had a terrific sunset. This couple's love for each other was apparent from the time Patrick first saw Rachel come down the steps to the beach.

Suggestion Saturday: Informal Engagement Session at Wedding Site
It's a great idea to walk around your wedding venue and take some engagement pictures even if you are planning to do a formal session somewhere else. It allows you (and your photographer) to get a feel for the areas around the site, to see the lighting, and get ideas for decorations. You chose your venue for its beauty, ambiance, etc so you may end up with better pictures here than at your planned session!
With my daughter and her husband, we were able to capture some relaxed, natural photos that are completely different than those taken during the formal engagement session.

A San Diego Celebration
I got to know Kelly and John when we all worked together. Doing their wedding was a pleasure. They were both so relaxed and looked terrific, separately and together. The setting was at The University of San Diego, John's alma mater. The beautiful backdrops for photographs were everywhere and the weather cooperated.
